The Benecko WWTP was the first major application of membrane technology for ENVI-PUR and at the same time it was the first municipal municipal wastewater treatment plant in the Czech Republic of this size.

Activation with MBR was selected for intensification at the Benecko WWTP due to the need to fit 1000 more PE into existing volumes, and the protected landscape area also required stricter runoff limits. The capacity of the treatment plant was thus doubled to the final 1900 EO.
